In a SIPOC diagram, the Inputs column lists the primary inputs needed by the processes listed in the Process column. Here are a few Input examples –
- Passenger information for an airport check-in process.
- Raw materials for a manufacturing process.
- Server uptime data for a monthly IT performance report.
- An email list for a marketing campaign
Keeping the Inputs column consolidated can be a challenge, and it’s best to group similar items together to prevent a cluttered document. In the example below, the material suppliers for a motor manufacturing process are grouped into one cell, which keeps the number of inputs in the document from getting out of hand.
